Mesa 19.3 could be released as soon as this week after being challenged by several delays over blocker bugs. This release should be making it out in the days ahead and is a fantastic Christmas gift to Linux desktop users and a big step-up for these OpenGL / Vulkan driver implementations as we end out 2019.

Shouldn't this be GFX7 or newer ? or that is only in mesa-git, not in mesa 19.3?

That is for Mesa Git / 20.0, not 19.3. Mesa 19.3 branched a month ago.

8K decode ... do current radeon cards even support 8k resolution? What are the minimum requirements? Latest gen hdmi and dp ports I assume?

Happy users of Debian unstable myself included already have 19.3.0-RC5 with borked 3D on AMD hardware

Having ACO now in a stable release is great! Will use this now on my systems by default. I'm as well quite excited about Zink!
