Firefox have gotten some really nice developer tools improvements lately.

Still things I miss in Firefox:

• Dialog element
• system-ui value for font-family
• Private instance variables in classes
• Web apps (Chrome have an apps tab)

At least there's progress. Partial present (needed for energy efficiency etc.) just landed (1), although not enabled by default yet and only usable with EGL, thus Wayland. Then there's work on making the X11 backend use EGL (2), too, which in turn allows to use the same code paths for partial damage and, to some degree, the DMABUF stuff. With the current rate of progress, I personally see good chances for Webrender by default in 2020, at least for a subset of systems.

AVIF is hecka cool. I wonder how good a still-focused encoder could do. I'd like one that biases toward matching sharpness/detail rather than the libaom encoder that biases a bit blurry.
