Nuvia has been founded by former highly qualified Apple Silicon engineers which also designed the Apple M1 silicon. So they know what they are talking about.

Experience did not teach you that big name does not mean amazing magic results even before seeing anything for real ?

Last time Qualcomm killed their arm server division before they even got a product to general availability. Hopefully this will not be a repeat from Qualcomm.

And any specific (and especially first) generation design results have not always predicted the future. However, I do look forward to the healthy ARM server ecosystem "competition" that will drive all companies to be better (somewhat equivalent to AMD vs Intel, or GCC vs LLVM, each making the other better by pushing forward). The winner tends to be the customer/consumer.

While Qualcomm hasn't had the guts to finish their own design to conquer the ARM server market, they now want to re-enter that market with such an acquisition?! I cannot believe it, as they fired most of their former in-house team after some investors called them to shrink down for profits and signaled to the market that they weren't interested any longer to enter that market and the same potential customers should trust them now to really mean it this time?! Well, they would have needed to hire new employees to get the design work done anyway and while at it with buying Nuvia they get the designers and IP in one package. Maybe it is even better designed this time than their own stuff. With Qualcomm, Nvidia, Ampere and Marvell, the ARM wars are about to begin for real this time...
