When used together with Proton or Wine, by default the creation of log files is stopped and the output of diagnostic messages to the console is organized using wine-specific features, which corresponds to the behavior of vkd3d-proton. The DXVK_LOG_PATH environment variable can be set to resume creating separate log files.

So let me get this straight...

We're using Vulkan to run Directx 11 on Directx 12?

Also, 3 days ago D8VK (a DXVK fork that translates D3D8 to vulkan) released its first stable version and the main dev has started working in merging it into the official DXVK (it will take a while).

The way I understood it is that it's more about bypassing DX12.
