Phoronix: Intel Arc Graphics See Faster Performance On Ubuntu 23.10

For those using the stock kernel and Mesa drivers when running Ubuntu Linux, the upgrade from Ubuntu 23.04 to the newly-released Ubuntu 23.10 can mean some nice graphics performance improvements for Intel Arc Graphics users. Here is a look at some Arc Graphics A770 benchmarks on Ubuntu 23.04 to 23.10 plus the gains that are coming up when moving to Linux 6.6 and Mesa 23.3-devel.

    Michael

    Typo/copy paste error?

You have "fluidx3d fluidx3d" and "MD5 hash" all by themselves as a paragraph? Looks like something is missing or wrong in this area of the article.

Aside from that, interesting article as usual.

Is there a way to run ray tracing on Arc yet?

I'm pretty sure ray tracing works out of the box with the ANV Vulkan driver, and seems to be supported as far back as Mesa 22.3, looking at vulkan.gpuinfo.org.

This is certainly a good improvement for Intel ARC,
but it's unclear what this means for users.
One can improve +50% over miserable performance, and it's still pretty bad performance.
For better context, it would have been great to compare the results against other targets,
          such as AMD's RX6600 or NVidia's RTX3060.
