How can one test this? There is some env var that needs to be enabled?

      A quote from the dev.
An easy and non-intrusive way to experiment with the upstream Wayland driver is:
      1. Create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Drivers\Graphics=" x11,wayland"
      2. Unset the DISPLAY env. variable, e.g, DISPLAY= wine ..., to force the use of the Wayland driver

I am pleased how quick this has come along. I have a feeling the Steam deck will make good use of this.

This is absolutely fantastic, once Wine supports Wayland I will no longer use anything with X11. Finally perfect scaling across all displays on all my programs.

              Michael

              Typo/grammar

"However, mouse not all games will be working properly yet until additional mouse functionality is implemented:"

Probably should be "However, not all games will be working properly until additional mouse functionality is implemented:" (remove "mouse" and "yet")

Cos its not meant to be used yet, it's too early for that.

for now there is a bug with amd gpus that stutters under wayland. started with kernel 6.2 and is still there. the bug is not present on every system. it seems that some devs cant reproduce it. well lets hope they will fix it.
