      They work fine if you use well supported hardware. The big problem is they're still stuck on a/b/g speeds even if you're using a new chipset capable of much faster speeds.

      Personally, I stick to servers for FreeBSD. I gave up chasing FreeBSD on the desktop a long time ago, but for servers...still my 1st choice.
