Phoronix: Libreboot Drama Continues, GNU Might Keep The Project

It's been one week since the Libreboot downstream of Coreboot announced it would leave the GNU and denounced the FSF over supposedly a transgendered individual having been fired by the this free software group. Both Richard Stallman and the FSF denounced these claims made by Libreboot maintainer Leah Rowe. Since then, no actual proof has been presented to back up these claims by the Libreboot maintainer but the drama around it has seemingly continued...

Michael did you see the link about a libreboot dev saying his own opinion about this? http://zammit.org/libreboot-screwup.html
Would be cool to have that in an article too.

Thanks for the update Michael and sorry for my last harsh comment on photonic riding the gossip wave.
Now going back to subject: after someone posting the video link I can't forget Stallman eating something from his feet, I feel like something has changed forever...

PS: are you still using a mobile Android? there's a couple of glitches on the mobile version of Photonic: hard to write, the input box gets impossibly small (try portrait and no-portrait) and when loading comments you can't start browsing/reading because the loading page will keep shifting. Thanks

Am I reading this right or did the GNU projec just tell her to go fork herself?

So judging from this Damien Zammit's explanation it seems like libreboot "leader" had long-standing problems within GNU/libreboot. If there were plans already in place to let her go, this whole charade might be her plan to save face and slam the door before getting fired. A very ugly way to go. This is just a guess though.

Leah is the leader of Libreboot project and the sole person that has commit access to the repos, you cannot "let her go" nor "fire" her as she is not "hired" by anyone.

Only way to get rid of her would be to fork Libreboot under a new leader, and that can be done any time they wanted.

Isn't the development model of GNU projects that one which transfers copyright to the FSF?
In that case, Libreboot belongs to the FSF.

Leah seems like a bad project leader because instead of acting neutral and impartial she is acting up on her own personal believes. She should lead the development, not push a political, religious, sexual, national or ideological agenda.
