    Phoronix: TrueOS & DragonFlyBSD Performance vs. Linux At The End Of 2016

    Last week I published various Linux workstation/server distribution OS benchmarks for ending out the year on the Linux distro comparison front (though a desktop/gaming focused comparison is coming this week) while for those curious here are some BSD operating system results compared to the Linux workstation/server performance figures.

    My iMac 27" (Mac OS Sierra) with an intel i5-6660 (3.3ghz-3.9ghz) does pretty well. I get 2001 on the pybench score, comparable to Dragonflybsd on the much better i7.

      Ubuntu has some debugging enabled. I wonder if other distros have it as well.

        Depends on what you mean exactly. Something like Clear Linux OS has debuginfo enabled (like most distros), enables the standard security features (stack-protector, FORTIFY_SOURCE) etc... I'd expect all distros to have that nowadays.

          I would certainly be interested in seeing TrueOS results more often, obviously anything using OpenMP isn't going to look great until LLVM does, but the other tests are certainly interesting.

              Rather serious inferiority complex? I don't see you "wonder about debugging" in Linux vs Linux benchmark threads? I BSD threads, it's at least 3rd time..
