Phoronix: Kaby Lake On Linux Plays Much Better With CPUFreq Than P-State

After ordering a Core i5 7600K Kaby Lake CPU last week, I've been spending the past few days trying it out under Ubuntu Linux. If you happened to pick up an early Kaby Lake CPU and seeing low performance, I wanted to pass along a little PSA while I am still working on additional tests.

At least don't make it default if it's so badly broken...

I have the i5-6600 (not the K) and it's for sure the best cpu I've owned. I am sticking with this until I see a compelling reason to upgrade. So far, none.

Interesting; now I’m thinking I should do a couple tests to compare intel_pstate and cpufreq on my i5 4690K…

Debian unstable with Haswell i3 and i5. Should I install cpufreqd?
Any settings changes to make?

Why don't you use an i7-6700k in your benchmarks?
Wouldn't it be the right one to sum up Kaby Lake performance?
(And maybe make the lesser Kaby Lakes unnecessary?)

Because I have no 6700k? Intel never sent me any Skylake samples and at the time I had no budget for anything above the 6600k.
