      Well, from one side, platform changes are very much needed, because for example touch support on android is very buggy, for example clicking rapidly two different MouseAreas registers a double click in the second, multi-touch is also broken, events get stolen and gestures - ruined.

      From the other, the changes will probably break existing stuff.

        Hopefully kde devs will test it before it gets released to see if it works with wayland and not repeat what happened on the current 5.8

          Thats on maintainers shoulders. KDE devs said they had troubles with 5.8 and recommended to use 5.6 or 5.7. Some maintainers(Manjaro's for example) didn't care and build against 5.8.
