    While there didn't end up being any point/patch releases to Qt 5.8, The Qt Company is making good on their word for improving the release flow with Qt 5.9 and maintaining it as an LTS release...

      No idea, but 5.9 is in Neon unstable, so there's at least some chance Wayland functionality is fixed. If it moves to stable, that would be confirmation that it actually works again.

        I'm looking forward to a stable Wayland experience for those in the KDE camp so that more applications can start moving to a native Wayland client.

          Qt 5.9 should come to OpenSuse Tumbleweed from what I read.
