It's not so surprising that Vulkan support in Mir is not forthcoming, considering the people working on that task were among those let go in April. Neither is the lack of XMir support upstreamed into x.org surprising, considering that without a personal computing environment using Mir, there is no point in supporting X11 desktop applications. Both of those tasks would make excellent community projects but don't expect Canonical Ltd. to invest another cent on something that has no hope of seeing a return. Those days are simply over.
