Is input lag taken into consideration?

For gaming and for virtual reality it is very important with low input lag.

Why not just make a privviledge systsem like android has? "Allow app to use direct input?"

because android is single user os and has uid per app. standard linux is multi user os, several users can use one app and different input devices at the same time

So I guess it's not just a probleme of priviledge, but a problem of arbitrating who has access to it and when. Actually, even for implementing priviledge access to device you need some API, and the raw one is not really suitable for that.

Since the word seems to be problematical - correct form would be "privilege"
