Looks like a lot of good work is being put into it. Think it's stable enough where I can install it on a friend's computer or not quite yet?

I never had much luck on it with real hardware, only VMs. If it's a really old computer, it might work.

Gotcha, I'll wait a bit longer then, some people just have to use Windows programs and this may be the ticket for them, but we will see!

The trouble is it doesn't really support drivers in a compatible enough way to be able to just drop in windows drivers... Even drivers are a moving Target unfortunately. So untill you can just drop Linux or windows drivers right in its a no go for most people. The exception being people that don't need any 3d or sound support... Or USB support etc...

I can't imagine seeing ReactOS in any productive environment during our lifetimes ... during the lifespan of Microsoft, the earth, the universe.

Does ReactOS only support applications targeting Windows 2000 / XP platform or older (NT 5.x) or will Win32 Windows 7 / 8 / 10 (NT 6.x) apps work too?

Just wondering because it appears users on the forums are making a big deal about how LibreOffice is dropping support for XP.

Please do, ReactOS is a very quickly developing project, it's been worked on for only 19 years.
