      I'm mostly excited about the parameter type widening as it will allow libraries to type hint there methods without requiring that any one that uses it to do the same for things to keep working.

        Assuming neither of them are special LTS-versions (or otherwise supported longer than the other), it would probably be 7.2.

            I meant the PHP versions. Ubuntu 18.04 indeed is an LTS version, that's why they usually pick up either LTS versions of software or latest if no LTS is available.
