It depends on the dock's construction. If the parts of it are supported in the kernel then it will work.

What this is about is implementing the OS part of TB3's security settings. Most BIOSes can choose the security level of TB devices, be it "allow all", "only allow DisplayPort" or "ask the user". The last one requires an OS component to display the question and configure the TB controller to either accept or deny the device. The kernel support is there, but we're missing the UI.
