For those looking for some perspective on the current AMD/NVIDIA Linux graphics driver performance or in comparing your system's performance against some independent numbers with Team Fortress 2 / GpuTest / Unvanquished on Linux, hopefully this data was useful. Overall, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 was the clear winner on Linux against the Radeon HD 7950 when using the proprietary drivers. The results for the GeForce and Radeon graphics cards were mostly in line with expectations aside from the few performance oddities pointed out within the article.

Coming up next on Phoronix will be Intel Haswell, AMD Radeon, and NVIDIA GeForce graphics card benchmarks between Windows 8 and Linux, while on the Linux side the latest open and closed-source drivers are both being tested. More details on that upcoming content is outlined in this article.
