Becoming quite clear when it comes to the out-of-the-box/default performance on Intel Tiger Lake were openSUSE Tumbleweed and Arch Linux tending to come in well behind Clear Linux, Ubuntu 21.10, and Fedora Workstation 35.
Why the poor showing out of openSUSE Tumbleweed and Arch Linux? After looking at the results and the default configurations, it appears to be due to openSUSE Tumbleweed and Arch Linux not enabling Intel Thermald by default.
