As far as the worthwhile information discussed at DebConf Managua:

- The Debian team is still deciding on the codename for Wheezy's successor. Among the expressed possible codenames for "Wheezy + 1" are Zurg and Shark.

- There are plans being laid for UEFI SecureBoot in Debian.

- Debian 7.0 Wheezy is sized in at 73 CDs or 11 DVDs per architecture (i386, x86_64, source). However, they are working on some changes to reduce the overall size.

- Debian is working towards 64-bit ARMv8 AArch64 support. They hope the 64-bit ARM Linux support will be ready for Debian 8.0 "Wheezy + 1" in two years time. There are also other general Debian ARM improvements going into Wheezy and its successor.

- GCC is being decoupled from Debian by LLVM/Clang for a variety of reasons.

- Debian wants to better support and work with its derivatives/offspring, such as Ubuntu Linux.

- Debian's Game Team wants to make Debian good for gaming, but there really is not much exciting going on there.

- Embedded Debian continues to be important.

- Debian wants to be active in the mobile space, but there was not anything really compelling that was shared.
