Initial Benchmarks Of Fedora Workstation 34 Beta On AMD Ryzen + Radeon

LevelDB has been enjoying some performance improvements when moving past the default Linux 5.8 kernel on F33. With the Btrfs file-system on Linux 5.11 both for Fedora 33 updates and Fedora 34 Beta, the performance is much better off. Google's LevelDB is used by Google Chrome and many other software applications.

The WireGuard kernel implementation continues getting into better shape as well.

Even with Fedora 33 having moved to GCC 11, for most of the compute tests there isn't a whole lot of change to find going from Fedora 33 to 34 Beta.

Or in some cases, very minor updates.

With Fedora 33 being liberal with their new kernel updates and what they will send down as stable release updates, in some cases like HMMer the improved performance is already back in F33. In this case the HMMer boost is attributed to the CPU frequency scaling changes in Linux 5.11.
