Right off the bat it was a surprise to see Firefox 83 pulling back in JavaScript performance given Warp is supposed to make things faster... At first I was wondering if Warp wasn't enabled but further confirmation proved it was. But then I recalled a Phoronix Forums member who did point out as part of the "Are We Fast Yet?" testing did show some regressions last week when Warp landed. With ARES-6 in particular, Chrome 85 was much faster than any of the Firefox releases tested.

Firefox 81/82 was close to Chrome 85 for the Kraken JavaScript benchmark but this test regressed too on the nightly state.

Octane showed Firefox 83 still regressing but even with Firefox 81 compared to Chrome 85, the Google browser carries a 41% lead.

WebXPRT meanwhile was crashing on Firefox nightly...
