Ryzen Compiler Performance: Clang 4/5 vs. GCC 6/7/8 Benchmarks
The Himeno results dipped on GCC and Clang SVN with the znver1 tuning. GCC 8.0 overall regresses compared to GCC 6/7 for this pressure solver workload.
GCC still leads over Clang with the C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer and this is one of the tests where znver1 optimizations help.
While GCC comes up just behind Clang with Stockfish.
The Bullet Physics performance is neck-and-neck across the tested compilers.
