While both the Kubuntu Focus and HP ZBook 17 G6 had 1TB NVMe SSDs, the Western Digital SN720 within the ZBook ended up delivering much better performance with SQLite and other I/O workloads.

While there are the obvious processor differences between these current-generation laptops tested, the standing does put the performance capabilities of the HP ZBook 17 G6 into perspective.
