For some OpenMP workloads there was a sizable shift in moving from Ubuntu 19.04 to 21.04.

Thanks to the newer compiler toolchain and other Linux optimizations over the past two years, there are healthy gains to find with the newer Ubuntu releases on Intel Xeon Scalable Cascade Lake.

Python has seen improvements as well with time...

PostgreSQL performance also enjoyed some nice uplift too.

While there were no widespread improvements in going from Linux 5.8 to Linux 5.11 atop the Ubuntu 21.04 base, in some workloads there were still some improvements to enjoy. Ubuntu 21.04 in April should be shipping with Linux 5.11.
