AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT Linux Gaming Performance
The Radeon RX 5600 XT GPU power consumption during these Linux gaming tests saw a 66 FPS average and a peak of 130 Watts. We'll see how these changes though with the updated Sapphire BIOS is tested either after another revision or when the AMDGPU Linux driver plays nicely with it.
The thermals for this Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT were good with the average temperature under load of 54 degrees and a peak of 71.
When looking at the geometric mean of all the Linux gaming benchmarks carried out, the Radeon RX 5600 XT performance was just ahead of the RX Vega 56 (but with much better power efficiency) and just ahead of the GTX 1660 Ti / GTX 1660 SUPER (and GTX 1070) but not quite reaching the RTX 2060 performance level.
The Radeon RX 5600 XT is looking like a nice sub-$300 graphics card for Linux users, assuming the last minute vBIOS issue is sorted out quickly. Though keep in mind in going with any Navi graphics cards, you will want to be using the very latest Linux kernel and Mesa for best support/performance.
