MSI GeForce GT 1030: A $70 Passively-Cooled Graphics Card, Decent With OpenGL/Vulkan/OpenCL/VDPAU

Team Fortress 2 at 1080p on Linux with OpenGL is largely bottle-necked with any recent GPUs. But with the NVIDIA driver having less CPU overhead than the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver, the GT 1030 ends up beating the red competition.

With Tomb Raider at 1080p, the GT 1030 wound up at around 60 FPS again and well ahead of the older GTX 650 Kepler and GTX 460 Fermi cards.

ET: Legacy is easily bottlenecked on higher-end GPUs, but the GT 1030 results were not. The GT 1030 performance in this open-source Enemy Territory game is faster than the GTX 650 and GTX 460 among the cards tested and almost six times faster than the Kabylake HD Graphics 630.

With the Tesseract open-source game, the GeForce GT 1030 performance is coming in line with the Radeon R7 260X....

But if looking at the performance-per-Watt in Tesseract, the GT 1030 comes out ahead of all tested Radeon GPUs and just behind the other Pascal cards and the GTX 750 Maxwell.
