NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/980: Windows vs. Ubuntu Linux Performance
Unigine Heaven at 1080p and UHD 4K were both running at around the same speed between Windows and Ubuntu Linux with the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers for both the GTX 970 and GTX 980 graphics cards.
With the older Unigine Tropics tech demo, the Linux performance on both NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series graphics cards was superior to Windows at both resolutions tested.
Unigine Valley at 1920 x 1080 slightly favored the Maxwell graphics cards on Windows 7.
When running Unigine Valley at 3840 x 2160, the results were neck-and-neck between the two operating systems on the two graphics cards.
