A Tour Of The Phoronix Office

Of course, many graphics cards are around... At the moment I'm working on a large ATI/AMD Radeon Linux graphics card comparison that will be published soon between open-source and closed-source drivers and when in a "tweaked" configuration. In terms of my graphics card recommendations for Linux, besides what you read in the articles, it all depends upon the situation and workload as I have praise for Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD. Therefore, it is best to ask me at a Phoronix meet-up or elsewhere to find out my views on a particular scenario.

Lexmark sent out the nice multi-function printer when they were trying to promote their Linux interest and support... Unfortunately I have yet to find that Lexmark multi-function printer working "out of the box" in any modern Linux distribution. However, it works fine if just using the WLAN support and using it for scanning, etc. The Brother laser printer at least works kindly in most any Linux distribution with CUPS from the past few years.

The Sumo Lounge Titan is still around and works most of the time for excess storage. I'm still not sure what value Sumo finds out of sending their products to Phoronix, but thanks anyhow.

Plenty of more hardware for Linux compatibility testing and benchmarking in the storage room.
