The multi-threaded MPEG decoding was also very slow for Radeon on Mesa 17.2 + Linux 4.12. Unfortunately, qvdpautest doesn't have any newer HEVC or 4K tests, etc.

For those curious how the different GPUs performed thermal-wise during the testing process of these tests run via VDPAU.

And here is a look at the AC system power consumption use for the tested graphics cards during the different VDPAU benchmarks conducted.
