NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 vs. AMD Radeon RX 7600 Linux Gaming Performance

Kicking things off with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was the start of a tight race between these two sub-$300 graphics cards. CS:GO under Linux had a slight favor to the GeForce RTX 4060 on the proprietary driver stack but was just a few extra frames for a title that can already juice out hundreds of frames per second.

With the Radeon RX 7600 costing ~$50 less than the RTX 4060, it was showing better value for those enjoying CS:GO.

The Radeon RX 7600 was also pulling less power than the GeForce RTX 4060 at a 47 Watt average compared to 67 Watts with the RTX 4060 though the peak power was greater on the RX 7600 at 130 Watts compared to 115 Watts.

Cyberpunk 2077 running under Linux via Steam Play was favoring the Radeon RX 7600 for better performance but when increasing the visual settings and running at 1440p, the GeForce RTX 4060 became the faster option. But for those concerned about value, the Radeon RX 7600 costs much less than the GeForce RTX 4060 cards.

With the Linux-native build of 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the GeForce RTX 3060 was about 13~14% faster than the Radeon RX 7600.

But on a cost basis, the Radeon RX 7600 at $249 delivers better value than the RTX 4060 in this benchmark.
