AMDGPU-PRO 17.10 vs. Linux 4.12 + Mesa 17.2-dev Git
Tomb Raider does significantly better on the RadeonSI driver stack for this RX 470 graphics card.
One of the few tests where AMDGPU-PRO is still doing better than the newest AMDGPU+RadeonSI is with the Xonotic open-source first person shooter game.
AMDGPU-PRO also has a slight advantage still in Unigine Heaven and Valley.
The RadeonSI Gallium3D driver also still trails AMDGPU-PRO with the new Unigine Superposition benchmark.
Overall, it seems with each week the AMDGPU+RadeonSI (and RADV) driver stack continues getting better. With these latest results of Linux 4.12 and Mesa 17.2-dev on the Radeon RX 470, the open-source driver stack won in 16 of the benchmarks and lost to AMDGPU-PRO in just 7 of the runs. In those seven runs, in several instances it was a very close race between RadeonSI and AMDGPU-PRO.
