Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD On Linux

From an AMD Ryzen 9 desktop with Ubuntu 21.04 on the Linux 5.14-rc1 kernel a fresh round of NVMe solid-state drive benchmarks were carried out. For getting an idea as to the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 1TB performance, a Samsung 980 1TB, Corsair Force MP600 2TB, and 1TB WD_BLACK SN850 solid-state drives were also freshly re-tested. SSDs aren't our main focus at Phoronix but this selection of drives should over a look at the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus capabilities. All of the drives were tested using an EXT4 file-system with the default mount options.

Sequential reads were coming in strong with the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus, right behind the WD_BLACK SN850. The 4 Plus was coming in at 6711MB/s, just below the 7000MB/s sequential read rating for this drive.

The sequential writes were coming in strong as well right behind the WD_BLACK SN850 and not too far behind the 5300MB/s rating.

The random read performance, however, is an area where the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus did seem to be struggling and coming in lower than expected as well as against the other drives being benchmarked on this Zen 3 desktop with Ubuntu and the Linux 5.14 kernel.

The random write performance was great and did come out ahead of the other drives benchmarked.
