Performance:

The Samsung SyncMaster 305T 30" monitor was connected to one of our test systems with an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB graphics card. On the software side was the Linux Catalyst Suite and the operating system was Ubuntu 8.04. In this configuration, the SyncMaster 305T was immediately detected and it was properly mode-set to 2560 x 1600. We had no problems using this monitor under Linux.

We have been using the Samsung SyncMaster 305T for a few weeks now and we have been very pleased with the results. It's great for graphics benchmarking running tests at 2560 x 1600 and its phenomenal gaming at this high resolution with such a large display. Among the activities we used this large LCD display for were normal applications within the GNOME 2.22 desktop, browsing the web with Firefox, and using OpenOffice.org for word processing. Aside from the productivity tasks, we had also watched movies with M-Player and played a variety of games.
