With SQLite and other select databases, the Samsung 900 series SSDs continue to really struggle under Linux... It's been a consistent problem across all of the Samsung SSDs I've tested in the past year or two when using the EXT4 file-system at least. The Solidigm P44 Pro SSDs performed well and were running comparable to the WD_BLACK SN850/SN850X SSDs benchmarked.

With FIO at least the Samsung 980/990 PRO drives don't experience any performance abnormality under Linux, but in any event the Solidigm P44 Pro performance was fantastic with both the 1TB and 2TB drives outperforming the Samsung 980/990 PRO and WD_BLACK SN850 series for 4K random read performance on Linux.

With the 4K random write performance though is where the P44 Pro drives weren't quite as competitive. The P44 Pro SSDs were a notable step-up over the P41 Plus drives and just behind the Samsung 980 PRO but behind the latest Samsung 990 PRO and WD_BLACK SN850X drives for random write performance.

The sequential read and write performance for the Solidigm P44 Pro SSDs were great and coming in just shy of their rated read/write speeds. all is well there and with great pricing on the Solidigm P44 Pro NVMe SSDs.
