The performance is very nice out of the UP Squared for these common Linux workloads that aren't threaded or scale well where the higher core count ARM boards did better than this Apollolake Celeron with just two physical cores.

On a geometric mean basis, the UP Squared offered 50% better performance than the Raspberry Pi 4 or about 33% greater than the NVIDIA Jetson Nano.

For those wanting to compare their own ARM/x86_64 Linux performance to these different boards, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1908263-AS-1908262AS05.

Additionally, there is this OpenBenchmarking.org result file with more standalone benchmarks of the UP Squared from browser tests to video encoding and Java.

The Celeron SoC isn't powerful enough for a Linux gaming system but if you are curious about the performance potential of the HD Graphics 500, there are these graphics benchmark results as well.
