When testing various HPC workloads, the Xeon Max 9480 performance was moving in the right direction with Ubuntu 23.10.

SVT-AV1 benchmark with settings of Encoder Mode: Preset 4, Input: Bosphorus 4K. Ubuntu 23.10 was the fastest.
SVT-AV1 benchmark with settings of Encoder Mode: Preset 8, Input: Bosphorus 4K. Ubuntu 22.04 was the fastest.
Intel Open Image Denoise benchmark with settings of Run: RT.ldr_alb_nrm.3840x2160, Device: CPU-Only. Ubuntu 23.10 was the fastest.
Intel Open Image Denoise benchmark with settings of Run: RTLightmap.hdr.4096x4096, Device: CPU-Only. Ubuntu 23.10 was the fastest.

In some workloads the performance was flat with Ubuntu 23.10 compared to prior Ubuntu releases, but for the most part there were some healthy improvements to find with this Sapphire Rapids server on Ubuntu 23.10.
