Arm today announced the ARMv9 architecture (or Armv9 as it's officially styled) with a focus on performance, machine learning, digital signal processing, and security.

ARMv9 is introducing the Arm Confidential Compute Architecture (CCA) for confidential computing with dynamically created "Realms", Scalable Vector Extensions 2 (SVE2) for greater machine learning performance and digital signal processing capabilities, and other improvements over ARMv8.

Arm is expecting CPU performance increases of "more than 30%" over the next two generations of mobile and infrastructure CPUs.

Arm was light on the ARMv9 technical details today but added commentary can be found via the press release and Arm blog.
