The libdrm support was merged this weekend for Etnaviv, the open-source, reverse-engineered support around Vivante graphics cores. With the libdrm support in mainline, merging the Gallium3D driver into Mesa shouldn't be far behind.

The Etnaviv user-space 3D code has been under review the past few weeks with the libdrm portion being what sits between the Etnaviv Gallium3D driver and the Etnaviv DRM driver that's already part of the mainline Linux kernel. As of yesterday, the nearly 2,000 lines of libdrm support for Etnaviv was merged.

There hasn't been any communication yet on Mesa-dev about merging in the Etnaviv Gallium3D driver, but it shouldn't be far behind now with the libdrm support being mainline and the Etnaviv DRM driver being around for a few kernel cycles already. Those with any Vivante graphics hardware wanting to check out the current driver can do so via this Etnaviv Mesa repository.
