Exiv2 Looks To Team Up With The KDE Project
This C++ library and CLI tools for dealing with image metadata is widely used already in the open-source world, including by several KDE programs like Krita, digiKam, and KPhotoAlbum. Software outside of KDE like GIMP and Darktable also leverage this image metadata library.
Driven in part by the current project maintainer looking to retire after thirteen years on the post, they are looking to join KDE to help with the role of maintaining this library. They hope with joining KDE there will be new contributors getting involved and the like. Additionally, by joining KDE it would bring Exiv2 into the Open Invention Network.
