ImgTech Announces "Furian" GPU Architecture

Imagination Technologies has announced their new PowerVR "Furian" GPU architecture for next-gen graphics and compute performance.

The PowerVR Furian architecture supports OpenCL 2.0, Vulkan 1.0, OpenVX 1.1, and is capable of VR/AR workloads. Furian features 35% GFLOPS density improvement, 80% fillrate density improvements, and 70~90% gaming density improvements.

The Furian GPU architecture IP cores are being delivered to multiple partners and the first GPU core variants are expected to be announced mid-2017.
