Peter Hutterer has today released libinput 1.9.0 as the latest version of this library used by both Wayland and X11 systems for unified input handling.

Libinput 1.9 now must be built via the Meson build system with the Autotools support being removed. Libinput 1.9 new features include support for touchpads using pressure-based palm detection, ignoring extra fingers while the pointer-controlling finger is moving, reworked acceleration for trackpoints / pointing sticks, debouncing is now applied automatically to pointer devices, the tablet-mode switch on hybrid laptops/tablets now disables other events to avoid fake touches, and various other improvements.
