LINUX KERNEL
Just two days after the release of Linux 5.11.4 it has now been succeeded by Linux 5.11.5 and the maintained LTS kernels also saw new releases this morning.

Among the fixes in this latest round of point releases is a USB audio fix for the Corsair Virtuoso SE, disabling VCN for a new Navi 12 SKU, enabling headset mic support on the Acer Swift, several Btrfs file-system fixes, a fix to resume from suspend if the system is running on battery and has a RTL8105e ASIC, and several other fixes.

Standing out the most with this latest round of point releases are the Btrfs fixes and then the VCN disabling patch for the new Navi 12 SKU. That Navi 12 patch was what I wrote about last week for Linux 5.12 with its handling for the new Navi 12 SKU in appearing to potentially be another AMD blockchain/mining accelerator card coming to market. So far there haven't been any other details on this headless / VCN-less card but the Linux support is on the way, similar to the Navi 10 "Blockchain" SKU that was mentioned at the end of last year in a separate Linux kernel patch series.

The list of changes for today's Linux 5.11.5 point release can be found via the kernel mailing list along with Linux 5.10.22 LTS and Linux 5.4.104 LTS releases being christened today with similar changes.
