Mir Continues Pushing Ahead With Wayland Client Support
It hasn't been this exciting watching the Mir Bazaar repository since Mir was first announced.
Last week we wrote about support for Wayland clients in Mir as well as finding out that Mir 1.0 is still hoped for in Ubuntu 17.10.
The Mir-Wayland happenings have continued. Recent commits include handling focus events on the Wayland front-end, initial work for full-screen Wayland windows, improved handling of pointer button actions for Wayland clients, and related work. There's also improved clipping now when running Mir on X11, among other minor improvements and fixes.
Progress is being made as can be seen from the Bzr repository. Though don't expect pristine support in time for Mir 1.0, especially if releasing it before next month. It appears the only main Canonical developers left with frequent commits to the project are Alan Griffiths and Christopher James Halse Rogers.
