Server administrators can upgrade to PostgreSQL 10.0 with it now being the latest stable release of this SQL database system.

PostgreSQL 10.0 is a very feature rich update including improvements to declarative partitioning, logical replication support, improved parallel queries, SCRAM authentication, performance improvements, WAL hash indexes, extended statistics, new integrity checking tools, smart connection handling, and a whole lot more.

Our testing earlier this year does show some performance improvements while I will have more tests shortly on Phoronix when trying out the official PostgreSQL 10.0 with the Phoronix Test Suite.

More details on the big ticket features of PostgreSQL 10.0 can be found via this morning's release announcement or you can head directly to the 10.0 documentation.
