Python Is Moving From Mercurial To GitHub
For those that didn't hear, Python developers will be abandoning their Mercurial-based repository and development workflow in favor of using a Git repository via GitHub.
Python had long been used Mercurial, in part because it's written in Python, but in acknowledging open-source developers tending to prefer GitHub and other reasons, they too are jumping on board.
Among the reasons for moving the project to Git -- and more specifically, GitHub -- can be found via this forum thread and the related mailing list announcement that was published on Friday.
