Besides releasing Qt Creator 4.4 today, The Qt Company also announced the release of Qbs 1.9, the Qt Build System.

Qbs is still on track for replacing qmake for Qt 6.0, which will move into greater focus as the year nears the end and 2018 kicks off. Qbs continues to be focused on offering faster build times and greater features over qmake. Qbs 1.9 features language improvements and product multiplexing as the two big additions this cycle.

Qbs 1.9 also contains improvements around building macOS disk images with custom backgrounds and icon layouts.
