Qt 5.15.3 LTS Released With 200+ Bug Fixes, But Only For Commercial Customers

Qt 5.15.3 is out today with nearly 250 fixes as the latest point release for this last Qt5 long-term support series. However, as reported previously, new Qt 5.15 LTS point releases are restricted to The Qt Company's commercial customers.

The Qt Company went ahead and released Qt 5.15.3 LTS today under their change where this and the future LTS point releases in this series are limited to their commercial customers whether it be for binaries or source form. While there was a lot of initial backlash from the community and threats of new "free" forks, The Qt Company has moved ahead with this commercial-only phase.

Back in January the toolkit company communicated that Qt 5.15 LTS was moving to its commercial-only phase where active license holders would have access to the now-private repository for future point releases and those releases. Non-license holders and the open-source community at large are encouraged to move to the latest Qt 6 releases, but for many Qt6 isn't yet viable due to modules not yet ported from Qt5 or other projects not yet being ported to Qt6. The fixes found in Qt 5.15.3 LTS in turn will be incorporated into the Qt 6.1 release aiming to be out next month.

Qt 5.15.3 is automatically visible for all commercial license holders in the online installer (maintenance tool). The source packages of Qt 5.15.3 are available via the online installer as well as the Qt Account. The offline packages for Qt 5.15.3 are available from the Qt Account portal.

If you want to access the source code repository, it can be done via the Codereview system. Just log in with a Qt Account that has a valid commercial license, and you will be able to access the LTS repositories.
