Two weeks ago Wine-Staging 6.4 was at nearly 700 patches while this weekend's release of Wine-Staging 6.5 lowers that to 661 patches thanks to a number of them being upstreamed.

Wine-Staging 6.5 saw a number of patches reach upstream Git including the Windows.Media.Speech and Windows.Gaming.Input DLLs, the OpenCL 1.1/1.2 support, Windows.Globalization work, and more.

So about two dozen patches managed to get promoted out of staging and into mainline Wine. That improved OpenCL support is what we found to be the most interesting of Wine 6.5.

While there were these patches upstreamed, there wasn't any new functionality introduced to Wine-Staging 6.5 for testing. Thus if you were riding on the previous releases, Wine-Staging should still be working out the same for you, just carrying less of a load for the moment.

Wine/Wine-Staging 6.5 are available for testing at WineHQ.org to run your favorite Windows applications and games on Linux.
