OpenGL 4.3's ARB_internalformat_query2 Is Now Ready For All Gallium3D Drivers
Shortly after the massive RadeonSI GL4 shader image work that landed yesterday, another OpenGL 4.3 extension was enabled in Mesa Git for all Gallium3D drivers.
ARB_internalformat_query2 should now work for all the Gallium3D drivers like RadeonSI and Nouveau NVC0 where as previously this extension was only implemented in Mesa for the Intel driver. Thanks to Red Hat's David Airlie, he wired up the changes to the Mesa state tracker and that was enough to get this OpenGL 4.3 running for the G3D drivers.
The OpenGL 4 activity in Mesa seems like it's ramping up by the day and NVC0/RadeonSI are now four extensions away from OpenGL 4.3 compliance (while still being one extension away each from GL 4.2 still). It will be interesting to see where we're at for the next Mesa release in three months time.
